As an organization Sigma Kappa encourages our members to be involved in their campus and community. Because of this focus on involvement outside of Sigma Kappa, our sisters are able to engage with the campus and community in ways that are important to them by hosting and participating in a number of different events.
The following are a few of the philanthropy events that our chapter organizes or attends in support of our five national philanthropies: the Sigma Kappa Foundation, Inherit the Earth, Gerontology, Maine Seacoast Mission, and Alzheimer's Association.
- Waffle House (UV)
- Sigma Karaoke (UV)
- Walk to End Alzheimer's
Ultra Violet Events:
Sigma Kappa collegiate and alumnae chapters host Ultra Violet events to support the Sigma Kappa Foundation PULSE Fund. Ultra Violet programs can be any type of fundraising event that meets the needs of the chapter and campus community. The Beta Zeta chapter hosts two Ultra Violet events each year. In the fall we host Sigma Karaoke, a fun event where members of the community are able to eat, hang out, and sing, all while donating to the PULSE Fund. Our spring event, Waffle House, is another fun way to donate and enjoy delicious waffles with our Sigma Kappa sisters!
