FAQ

Question: Why join Sigma Kappa?

Answer:

At Sigma Kappa, we are focused on uplifting members and creating meaningful experiences throughout the college careers, as well as beyond graduation. Your student will join a strong, caring community and will be provided lifelong opportunities and support for intellectual, social, and professional development.

Question: How much does being in Sigma Kappa cost?

Answer:

We pay dues each semester which include many fees we have to pay to National Headquarters, as well as all of the fun things we do in our chapter. These things include formal, sisterhood events, Founder’s day, homecoming/springfest, and much more! Members who do not live in the house are also required to pay a parlor fee each semester which goes towards maintaining the chapter house and helping pay for meals at the house, things everyone can take advantage of!

Question: Why is my first semester more expensive?

Answer:

The new member semester is more expensive because there are several one-time fees from National Headquarters required to purchase a badge and register as an official member of Sigma Kappa.

Question: Is it expensive to live in the house?

Answer:

While the price of living in the house varies from year to year, it is consistently cheaper than other options off campus. For the 2021-2022 school year living in the house costs $5,890 and includes meals in house.

Question: How do payment plans work?

Answer:

We do offer payment plans to women who would like one. With a payment plan, dues would be sent out in four installments of lower amounts spread out over four months rather than one lump sum. This is recommended if a member will be paying their own dues.

Question: Are scholarships available?

Answer:

Our Vice President of Academic Excellence sends out scholarships throughout the year from many different sources. We also are currently in the process of creating a Beta Zeta specific scholarship with National Headquarters which should be available next school year!
