Letter from the President

Welcome to Sigma Kappa Beta Zeta!

Here at the University of Maryland, we are one of 16 Panhellenic sororities on campus and we call 10 Fraternity Row our home!

As a Sigma Kappa, each of our members strives to live out our values on a daily basis. Personal growth, friendship, service, and loyalty are reflected in the thoughts and actions of women in Sigma Kappa. From raising money for our philanthropies to participating in sisterhood events to strengthen our mystic bond, Sigma Kappa is a home away from home for collegiate women and truly enriches the undergraduate experience.

Since becoming President of this amazing chapter, I have realized what being in Sigma Kappa has truly meant to me. Being a Sigma Kappa woman is bigger than the friends I have made and experiences I’ve had. It’s about developing a deep bond of sisterhood; sisterhood that is the deep love that I have for the women in my chapter and the knowledge that our relationships will continue past four years. It’s becoming a well-rounded, intelligent, confident woman who is ready to take on the world outside of undergrad, knowing there is a foundational support system from years in Sigma Kappa.

Without the love and support from my sisters, I know I could not be where I am today. I am forever grateful for the bond that Sigma Kappa has provided me, and I look forward to the women who will shyly walk up the back steps and walk confidently out the door as a Sigma Kappa.
